In the past Ben has worked in many different restaurants around the Twin Cities area. He has had a part time line cook job for many years and still enjoys cooking, but wishes he had more time to do it.
Ben completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry and was looking for a way to connect his love for food and his passion for chemistry. He worked on synthetic organic chemistry as an undergrad but wanted something different, food science seemed like a natural path. After his graduate studies, Ben plans to enter the flavor industry.
Cooking is one of Ben’s favorite hobbies. After working in a restaurant as a cook for many years he loves to be creative in the kitchen at home. He also enjoys snowboarding in the winter. He owns two cats named Joule and Tesla who love to shred paper while he is gone at work.
