Claire received her BS in Biology and BS in Chemistry with a Concentration in Biochemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020. During her undergraduate, she underwent a summer research fellowship program in Roanoke, VA where she evaluated mechanisms underlying lymphocyte mimicry in metastatic breast cancer with current OSU professor, Dr. Ken Oestreich. During her time, she realized she wanted to go into food science research. Happy to be a part of Dr. Peterson’s team, Claire is currently working on studying flavor compounds that drive consumers’ liking of meat products.
Claire is always picking up a new hobby, from learning new languages, to playing D&D, playing poker, making miniatures, practicing wushu and fencing, playing video games, and cooking to name a few.
