Cody Stubbs
PhD Student
Coffee Chemistry

Before starting graduate school, Cody conducted sensory evaluation research at the Pennsylvania State University, working as a laboratory technician in Penn State’s Sensory Evaluation Center and as a research assistant under Dr. John Hayes and Dr. Alyssa Bakke. Currently, Cody’s research concerns the tactile perception of “body” in coffee from a combined chemistry and sensory perspective. He seeks to understand what compounds cause this tactile sensation, how they associate with “body” attributes, and what are the mechanisms of tactile sensation in the mouth.

Outside of the lab Cody enjoys cooking, hiking, and fishing and loves discussing current topics with family and friends.
