Matthew Teegarden
PhD Student
Metabolomics of Berry Products

After a short stint as an architecture student, Matt quickly rediscovered his love of chemistry through food science during his time as an undergraduate at Ohio State. He completed his M.S. degree under the guidance of Steven Schwartz at Ohio State with a focus on Vitamin D analysis. Matt’s current research is focused on understanding the stability, exposure markers, and biological impact of berry products using targeted and untargeted metabolomics.
Matt is an avid science communicator and past president of the Institute of Food Technologists Student Association.  For fun, he like to make, but mostly eat, desserts.
