Swetha received her Bachelor's and Master's in Chemistry from Stella Maris College (University of Madras), India. She did her internship and thesis in the field of polymer and nanoscience from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany.
She developed an interest in food science, especially for flavour chemistry due to her family business in food catering. She enjoys learning about food and the science backing it through blogs and podcasts. Currently, a PhD student at the Ohio State University under the direction of Dr. Devin Peterson and FREC, Swetha is researching the salt-protein interactions that affect saltiness perception.
In her free time, she enjoys swimming and playing badminton. She loves learning new languages- German, French and Spanish (just started) for now!
