Wen received her master’s degree in food science and technology from the Ohio State University in 2015, then started her career at Nestle as a technician in the R&D department. This work sparked her interest in flavor chemistry and sensory evaluation. Thus, Wen joined the Flavor lab to pursue her PhD degree. Currently, Wen’s research focuses on using untargeted flavoromics to identify flavor active compounds in wheat flour.
Since her childhood Wen has enjoyed eating chocolate ice cream and watching TV at home, especially in the snowy winter. Traveling is another of Wen’s favorite hobbies. She enjoys seeing historical sites and experiencing new cultures. So far, Wen has been to 3 continents, 13 countries and dozens of cities. It is amazing to see how diverse the world is.
